Super Daddy!

I admit I was a little skeptical when Joe said he wanted to register for a sprint-triathlon with only 3 weeks to train before race day, but encouraged him to go for it (and hoped it was just a random thought that would be forgotten by lunch the next day). It definitely was not a passing idea and he tried to squeeze in as much running, biking, and swimming as he could over the past few weeks. I was always impressed when he would head to the gym at 5:30 AM to get in a swim on a busy day or head out for a run after getting the kids in bed at night, he certainly worked hard to get ready to race. And I worked hard at sitting on the couch watching my belly get larger and larger.

So last Sunday was the big day and while Joe wasn't quite the top finisher, he did an amazing job! This was only his second sprint-tri, but he is already planning how he can improve his training routine and "transition times" for the next race. A few pics of the fun morning:

Almost finished!

  That's my daddy!

Quite a coincidence that Joe's race number and his finish time were the exact same #!

Whew!  Still smiling and ready for the next race!
